MA invites applications for collections funding

Deadline for Effective Collections funding is 3 September 2010
The Museums Association is currently considering applications to both the main and the special project fund of the Effective Collections scheme.
This stream of Effective Collections funding has funded seventeen projects so far.
From numismatic collections in Yorkshire, to photograph and film collections in Slough, the quality of applications so far has been extremely high, and the MA is hoping to see the same standards of originality and diversity in this round.
It is anticipated that up to two special projects and nine main projects will receive funding.
The MA’s Effective Collections project assistant, Vicky Kinahan, said: “The projects that have received funding have already gone on to prove just what can be achieved under the Effective Collections remit, and the level of innovation within the applications has been impressive.
“The opportunity to work with an Effective Collections coach has been beneficial to those that have received funding and the feedback we have received has been hugely positive. We are also more than happy to offer informal advice on any application ideas, so please do get in touch.”
