The brochure and booking form for the Museums Association (MA) Conference & Exhibition 2011 are now available to download online.

The MA conference runs 3-4 October at the Brighton Centre, Brighton. It's an essential event in the museums and heritage calendar - the biggest networking opportunity for museum professionals in Europe.

Delegate rates are lower this year in recognition of the difficult economic times. The MA is also offering an early bird discount to anyone who books before 31 July.

Delegates can choose from an exciting programme of seminars, debates and networking sessions, with themes this year ranging from museums of the future to network-building and creativity in times of crisis.

A number of leading figures in the sector are already confirmed as keynote speakers, including Tim Smit, co-founder of the Eden Project, and Althea Efunshile, chief operating officer at Arts Council England.

Sharon Heal, the MA’s head of publications and events, said: “This year’s conference takes place against a bleak economic backdrop. Budget cuts, staff reductions and closures have affected the whole sector. But the flip side is bigger audiences, more lottery money and a chance to think creatively about what we do.

“Come to conference to engage with fresh thinking and to debate and shape the future of your sector.”

Running alongside the conference, the MA exhibition is an ideal opportunity for suppliers and museum professionals to mingle. From lighting to 3D technology, storage solutions to ticketing systems, a vast range of state-of-the-art museum products will be on show.
