The Museums Association (MA) has launched a new online Campaigns section to pull together information and resources from current and past MA campaigns.

The MA carries out numerous campaigns, consultations and research projects every year, as well as ongoing advocacy for the sector at the highest level of government.

Our Campaigns section features new pages on the MA’s current policy priorities, including the disproportionate impact funding cuts will have on services; national support and strategy for museums; concern about changes to Renaissance; and local and regional support for museums.

The Campaigns section also incorporates updated pages on the MA’s long-term priorities. One of the MA’s core policy areas - improving use of collections through sharing and disposal - now offers detailed guidelines on the sale of collections, which has become a pressing concern for some museums in the current financial climate.

New material has also been added to the MA’s …Love Museums page, a campaign launched last year offering museums tools and advice on carrying out advocacy at a local level.

The MA is committed to helping museums become more environmentally and financially sustainable, and additional resources are now available for work in this area.

Our Campaigns section also features extensive information on work the MA has done towards getting a better deal for the museum workforce in terms of pay, diversity and skills development.
