MP seminars open to all visitors and delegates
Visitors and delegates at this year's Museums Association (MA) Conference & Exhibition in Brighton will have an opportunity to attend a new seminar programme put together by the MA’s online publication, Museum Practice (MP).

MP provides best practice examples of new developments and innovations in museums and galleries, from the latest technology to new ways of interpreting objects and storing collections.

The exhibition seminar programme is designed to offer practical, insightful and case study-led content. The seminars are completely free and open to all visitors and delegates.

Visitors can choose from a programme of 26 seminars lasting 45 minutes each. The seminars will run over 3 and 4 October on the exhibition floor of the Brighton Centre. The exhibition runs alongside the MA’s annual conference and is free and open to everyone.

In Room 1 on the exhibition floor, the seminars will focus on practical areas of museum activity such as lighting, pest control, copyright, commercial opportunities, Accreditation and energy costs.

In Room 2, seminars will cover topics such as digital innovations, new thinking and creativity. Attendees can find out more about writing great text, online learning and games, social media and 3D films.

Rebecca Atkinson, online publications editor at the MA, said: “The MP seminars are a fantastic opportunity for visitors to hear about the latest innovations and case studies across a broad range of subject areas.

“We’ve put together a programme showcasing new and pioneering projects, practical workshops and interactive sessions – best of all, the seminars are completely free to registered visitors.”

Entry is on a first-come-first-served basis – be sure to arrive in good time to avoid disappointment.
