Vanessa Trevelyan to be MA president
Will Adams, 10.08.2010
Head of service at Norfolk Museums & Archaeology Service will take over after AGM in October
For this year’s Museums Association council elections, there were 16 vacancies in 14 categories.
However, we received only four nominations: president, councillor for the South West, university museum institutional councillor and national museum institutional councillor.
Therefore members will not be required to vote and the nominees are elected or re-elected to council.
We are delighted to announce that the following council members have been elected:
President: Vanessa Trevelyan
Councillor for the South West: Alison Bevan
University Museum Institutional Councillor: Sally MacDonald
National Museum Institutional Councillor: Stephen Allen

Governance changes
Please note that if the proposed changes to the Association’s governance are passed at the 2010 AGM, which takes place on the 5 October 2010 in Manchester, their term of office will be up to the 31 March 2011.
However, the president will remain so when the new Board takes over the Association’s governance from the 1 April.
New elections are planned for the end of November 2010 to recruit members to the new Board.
