MA launches a range of benefits for volunteers
The MA is offering a 10% discount to all new volunteer members who join before 7 January 2011. If you pay by direct debit you will receive a further 10% off, making yearly MA membership just £10 per quarter.
MA Membership comes with a range of great benefits, including a monthly copy of Museums Journal featuring news, reviews and comment from the sector, training days, job updates and free entry to hundreds of museums.
Members also gain access to our online magazine Museum Practice, which last month featured a special study on volunteering in the age of the Big Society.
As well as that, members and non-members can now visit our new section for volunteers on the MA website for all the latest career advice, case studies and features on volunteering in the sector.
Marketing officer Zoe Spencer said: “We recognise the importance of volunteers in the museum sector. Many museums couldn't open without them, so the MA wanted to find a way to encourage more volunteers to join the Association and take advantage of the benefits of membership.”
“Whether volunteers are looking for their first job in the sector, between positions, or interested in supporting museums, they will find our publications of great interest, and benefits such as free entry into paying exhibitions a real bonus.”
