Speakers announced for visitor research event

Find out how to use data to diversify audiences and support fundraising
The Museums Association (MA) has announced the speakers for its MP Seminar Getting To Know You: Using Visitor Data Intelligently, which takes place at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh on 20 September.

Delegates will be able to hear from Andrew McIntyre, the co-founder of Morris Hargreaves McIntyre, on how museums can shape their strategy using visitor insight, with examples from his recent work with the Western Australian Museum.

Genevieve Adkins, the assistant director of public programmes at the National Army Museum will discuss how a strategic approach to using audience data and insight has led to a radical change in the way the museum works with its audiences.

And Christina Lister, a communications consultant, will share practical ways that small to medium museums can consult non-users.

Other speakers include Oliver Mantell, the director of consultancy at the Audience Agency, Susie Ironside, the visitor studies curator at Glasgow Museums, Elaine Macintyre, the digital media content manager at National Museums Scotland, Laura Crossley, a museums and cultural consultant, David McLeod, the museum marketing and visitor services officer at Surgeons’ Hall Museums in Edinburgh, and Sarah-Jane Harknett, the visitor engagement project coordinator at University of Cambridge Museums.
