MA lobbies government over Renaissance
Patrick Steel, 02.08.2010
MA president Stuart Davies writes to Jeremy Hunt underlining the importance of Renaissance funding
”It is no exaggeration to say that many of England’s major non-national museums have been completely transformed by Renaissance. After decades of under-investment, Renaissance is enabling museums to begin to reach their full potential,” Davies states in the letter to the secretary of state.
“Our members want us to make sure that you understand the importance of the Renaissance scheme of central-government support for non-national museums.”
MA director Mark Taylor will be meeting tomorrow with culture secretary Ed Vaizey to further emphasise the importance of Renaissance to the MA's members.
