The National Trust has appointed Tarnya Cooper as curatorial and collections director. Tarnya has been chief curator, then curatorial director, at the National Portrait Gallery in London since 2011.

Turner Contemporary has announced the appointment of eight new trustees who will join the board during the next phase of the gallery’s development.

Jim Dixon has been reappointed as a trustee of National Heritage Memorial Fund/Heritage Lottery Fund for three years.

There have been some role changes among staff in Monmouthshire Museums. Rachael Rogers is now manager and Annie Rainsbury has been made curator.

Celia Davies, the director of Photoworks, a Brighton-based organisation dedicated to photography, has announced she is to step down at the end of 2017 after eight years.

Two conservation specialists have been appointed subject leaders at West Dean College, West Sussex: Malcolm Archer for clocks and Maickel van Bellegem for metalwork.

Moira Lindsay has joined the British Council’s visual arts team as the new head of collection. Lindsay, who was the curator (art) at the Victoria Gallery & Museum at the University of Liverpool, will look after the British Council’s 8,700 artworks.

The Museums Association has appointed two representatives for south west England. They are Liam Wiseman, the heritage engagement manager at the Bristol Old Vic, and Laura Walton, the chief executive at Harvey’s Foundry Trust, a charitable organisation based in Hayle, Cornwall.
