Five new trustees have been appointed to the British Museum. Elizabeth Corley, Muriel Gray, Paul Ruddock, Mark Price and Dame Nemat (Minouche) Shafik will each serve a four-year term.

Arts Council England has announced that its deputy chief executive, Althea Efunshile, will step down in October this year. Efunshile was appointed to the role in 2012, after joining the organisation in 2007 as executive director of arts planning and investment.

Michelle Aland has been appointed the director of Handel and Hendrix in London. She will oversee the opening of the Hendrix flat at 23 Brook Street in February, and initiate an events programme in the venue.

Liverpool Biennial has appointed Kitty Scott, the Carol and Morton Rapp curator of modern and contemporary art at the Art Gallery of Ontario, as co-curator of Liverpool Biennial 2018. Also, Julie Lomax will become the organisation’s director of development in March. Lomax will move from a position as the director of visual arts for the Australia Council for the Arts.

Anthony Misquitta
, a commercial, intellectual and property solicitor, has been appointed the general counsel to the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. This is in addition to his position as a consultant solicitor at Keystone Law. Misquitta has been connected with the Association for Cultural Enterprises for many years and remains a director of its trading company.

The National Glass Centre in Sunderland has appointed a new director. Keith Merrin, currently the chief executive of Museums and Archives Northumberland, will take up the post in March.
