To be a fundraiser for a museum you won't be expected to have museum studies qualifications but you will need to demonstrate an interest in and understanding of the way the museums sector is funded.
There is no formal way into fundraising for museums but relevant work experience could be in marketing, fundraising for a charity, or a similar role in the private sector.
A lifelong love of museums and the things in them is not an essential criterion, but an enthusiasm for the sector will help you.
