The part-time course runs every two years, taught through four one-week residential schools, held in January and June.

The course is aimed at museum and gallery employees (or committed volunteers)
who wish to study while continuing with their work. You will be able to use your
practical experience towards the coursework and write up your professional activities
for assessment to gain a Graduate Diploma in Museum and Gallery Studies. it takes two years to complete to Diploma Level, or two years and five months to include a dissertation for the MLitt. Much of the coursework is done in the students’ workplaces, but participants come to St Andrews twice a year for one-week residential schools. These are held in January and June.
