| Event title | Introducing marketing for museums (W5) |
| Details | 1000-1600
For those with little or no experience of museum marketing.
Every museum needs to understand its visitors in order to attract them and provide them with the best possible experience once there. A planned approach is needed to make this work effectively in the long-term.
In this interactive workshop delegates will develop a simple marketing plan for their museum using key steps, including:
cost-effective ways of finding out what matters to your visitors
making the most of existing market research
setting clear objectives
understanding the benefits offered by the museum to visitors
translating these benefits into clear messages to encourage people to visit
developing manageable and realistic tactics with which to implement the plan.
