Opportunities to share and help develop collections knowledge
We are inviting applications for a further, and possibly final, round of Monument Fellowships from the Museums Association. The Fellowships enable retired collections specialists to work with former colleagues, their successors and the wider museum community to share and develop collections knowledge.

The Fellowships are open to any UK accredited museum, working with a retired or about-to- retire collections specialist. With guidance from the MA, successful museums and Fellows will plan a project in which the Fellow will work with an individual successor or an appropriate group of colleagues to share and develop knowledge.

Host museums will have to demonstrate that the project is closely linked to their core objectives and priorities and is part of an organisation-wide commitment to developing and sharing collections knowledge. Fellows will also be expected to spend some of their time sharing their knowledge with the wider museum community.

Fellowships will initially be 50 days in length, typically spread over about 6 months. Fellows will receive a daily fee of £100. Host museums and Fellows will receive a package of support and guidance from the MA.

We are seeking partnership funding contributions from the host museums of around 50%. There will be the opportunity to apply to extend Fellowships by up to a further 50 days if host museums can demonstrate there would be significant additional benefits in doing so.
