Support for museums
Our research has shown that museums and galleries can benefit from additional support and advice during the training process. In response, the Museums Association has produced guidance materials for all host venues, and has begun a series of seminars designed to bring hosts together to share experiences, and influence future policy and development.

'The MA has monitored this process well and also developed opportunities for the trainees to meet and discuss issues.'
Diversify Toolkit
The Diversify Toolkit enables potential host venues to set-up their own traineeships and bursaries. It provides advice on preparing organisations, advertising and recruitment, partnership agreements, writing training contracts, and designing work programmes.
The toolkit has been designed so it can be used by all those involved in the process of setting up positive-action training initiatives including museum managers, those with direct supervisory responsibility for trainees and HR managers.
There are different models for positive-action training within the museum sector. The examples used within the toolkit are based on the two-year traineeship and the one-year bursary models that the Museums Association and its partners have developed through Diversify.

Training opportunities
The Museums Association offers training days for potential host venues where representatives from current host venues help facilitate workshop sessions around the area of implementing traineeships. The MA is also able to visit current and potential host venues to give briefing sessions to staff.
