Professional Review
Professional review is the final stage of the AMA. It is a 45 minute formal discussion with two museum professionals who will assess whether you meet the criteria to be awarded the AMA.
You will be asked about your CPD and your plans for the future. You will also need to demonstrate an understanding of the Code of Ethics and topical issues in the sector.
Am I ready for the review?
You can come to review once you have completed at least 24 months of CPD and submitted an original plan, a revised plan and an interim summary to the department and received feedback on these. You should also be confident talking about your development as well as ethics and topical issues. If you are not sure whether you are ready or not, talk to your mentor or the MA.
How do I book a review?
Contact the professional development department and they will book you in for a session. Book in plenty of time to make sure you get the date you want. You will need to pay your review fee within one month of booking.
When will I hear if I have been awarded?
We will write to you as soon as possible after your review to tell you if you have been successful. You will generally hear within 1 week.
