For more information about the Diversify scheme, click here So far, over 90 individuals from minority-ethnic backgrounds have taken part in the Diversify scheme and have gained greatly from the scheme's training and work experience. The majority of them now enjoy working in full-time permanent jobs in UK museums. Bursaries 2008-09 With support from Renaissance - the Museums, Libraries & Archives Council's (MLA) regional museums programme, the Museums Association (MA) is delighted to offer: Three bursaries, which include: Please note that the bursaries do NOT include day-to-day living, travel and accommodation expenses when you are doing the masters in museum studies - participants will need to fund their living expenses while on the course. The small training allowance is only to cover the five-month placement. You must meet all four of these criteria: · You must be of Black African, Black Caribbean, Asian or Chinese descent · You must have, or be expecting to have, either a first or second class honours degree, or an equivalent qualification or experience that will meet the university's admission requirements for postgraduate training · You must be eligible for home student university fees (for example be a national of the UK or another EU country, or given indefinite or exceptional leave to remain in the UK) · You must be serious about starting a career in museums and galleries in the UK How to apply · Email us a covering letter and tell us why we should sponsor you for the bursary. · Email us your completed application form/s (if you are taking final examinations this year please let us know what class of degree you expect to get). · Ensure that you have completed the Equality and Diversify monitoring form at the end of the application form · Confirm that you are eligible for 'home' university fees (e.g. because you are a UK or other EU national).
